From Anton Vaino to Calin Georgescu

The problem is that what the citizens want does not coincide with the objectives of the political class and the establishment in Romania, which have constantly had other priorities.
The result? Only a few months were enough to get one step closer to changing the country's Euro-Atlantic orientation.
How was this possible? Through the sabotage practiced by a corrupt political class and the Romanian establishment, which, in order to maintain power, tolerated for years the Russian "fifth column" in Romania and its followers.
In the case of Romania, the result was a "smoke and fog factory", namely the creation through the media of a virtual labyrinth and an informational hyperreality immediately after the fall of communism, a labyrinth in which voters got lost because they could no longer distinguish left from right and good from evil:

The textbook demonstration was the astonishing social engineering applied in the case of Calin Georgescu ( https://www.anneapplebaum.com/2025/01/07/the-new-rasputins/ ) that took Europe and the free world by surprise, but ultimately failed due to the strong reaction of the citizens, not the authorities.

For over 35 years, all sociological surveys have consistently shown (including the one before the vote for Călin Georgescu) that Romanians are pro-NATO, pro-Europe and categorically anti-Russia.

It took only a few months for a well-targeted psychological campaign, based on subliminal stimuli, to be one step away from changing the preferences of voters and the destiny of Romania.

Conclusions

The real war waged by Russia against European and Western civilization is not on the front, but in the virtual space where it wants to control people's minds, and here the techniques of influence exceed the arsenal of classical psychology and sociology.

It is a fight for the future geometry of the world in which political space and psychosocial control are the arena for seizing consciousness, symbols and meanings and redefining them in the interests of this evil country that can only live by destroying others, respectively by resetting and overturning the values ​​of human civilization built over thousands of years.

Russia understood the postmodern vulnerability of the West: fragmentation of meaning, moral relativism, depletion of values. Thus began an "export of chaos" that aims to reset the world through a multipolar strategy of controlled disorder. Not only tanks were taken out of the garages, but also myths, symbols, collective fears and algorithms for amplifying emotions.

Russia became a symbolic actor, not just geopolitical. It no longer plays only for territories, but for meanings and significances. For Moscow, war is a total opera: a spectacle in which reality is deconstructed and reconstructed according to the logic of power, and the fight is no longer fought only for territories, but for consciousness, symbols and meanings, respectively for their redefinition in the sense desired by the "Evil Empire" (Ronald Reagan).
